Love Is

Love is . . . .

when the father of your children

brings you flowers for Mother’s Day!

He sure has my number!

Although I truly love all flowers, the iris is a particular favorite . . . and then there’s the fact that it’s purple! 😉

As you can see, the bouquet is just beginning to open so I’ll be smiling for the next few days.

  1. The iris flowers are beautiful, I’m so glad you had a wonderful Mother’s Day.
BTW, May 8th is Iris day. Iris flowers have spiritual importance in Japan. According to the Japanese, it wards off evil spirits.

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother’s Day! We spent it with my dad, aunt, uncle and cousins. Good food and fun, lots of laughter too.

    Today’s celebrations include:
5/9 Lost Sock Memorial Day (recognizes your drawer full of unmatched socks that we never seem to throw away incase the mate shows up)
5/9 National Train Day (On May 9, 1869 the tracks of the two railroad companies met up at Promontory Summit, Utah. A golden spike was driven into the final connection of the two tracks)
    5/9 National Butterscotch Brownie Day

  2. I love those too. Hope you had a great day – mine was filled with grandchildren – what better way to spend a day.

  3. Oh, yes. Flowers are always a good choice for me. I got a hanging basket of begonia. I never usually put out hanging baskets because they are so expensive to buy or to fill but I was thinking this year I would so they beat me to the punch.

    Yours are beautiful.

I spent a lot of time watching birds yesterday and noticed a couple of new ones that I have not seen before. That always excites me. We also have a hawk nest in a stand of pine just on the other side of the neighbor’s house. I know it endangers my birds, but its all nature.

Have a great start to the week.
    xx, Carol

  4. Beautiful flowers, and great picture, too. He did great!!

I got a steam mop for Mother’s Day but it is what I asked for. I spent the morning steam mopping my kitchen. I know that kind of goes against the meaning of Mother’s Day, but it is what I wanted to do!! I’m weird like that.

The Mississippi River is expected to crest tomorrow in Memphis, 14 feet above flood stage. Major flooding going on all around, lots of evacuations. Luckily, we are out East in the suburbs so we have not been affected. Downtown is a mess!

  5. Hi Crystal! 😀

I hope you had a great Mother’s Day! Sir Beads gets a gold star for that bunch of beauties!!!

    xoxo Paulette

  6. Very pretty flowers!! Bet they smell nice too.

Allison, how do you like your steam mop. I have been looking at them.

Carol, I saw your new teeth. So natural looking. No one will know.

  7. Donna,
I do like my steam mop. The one I got (& picked out! My husband needs specific directions, he is afraid to get me something I don’t like. I am pretty picky) is a mid priced one. It was easy to use & seemed to get up a lot of dirt. My kitchen floor has a pattern to it and you can’t really ever tell if it is dirty or clean, so there was not a noticable difference in appearance, the mop pad was pretty dirty, though. I wanted it because Robert is starting to scoot around on the floor and he puts his mouth on EVERYTHING! I did not want him to put chemicals in his mouth (I usually use the swiffer). If I was doing more than just the kitchen, I probably would have wanted a more top of the line model, but it is fine for just this one area.

    Hope this helps!
