Earrings R Us

What can I say? I can’t seem to stop making these “bead woven” earrings. ๐Ÿ˜‰

~Southwest Serenade~

They differ from the other earrings I make in that this type is created with tiny beads and thread, instead of larger beads and metal wire!

As a die-hard purple-lover – I am way out of my “color” comfort zone here, but I’ve discovered that I absolutely LOVE this blend of matte turquoise and copper bronze.

The ear wires are made of brown niobium metal, which has a lovely reputation for being kind to sensitive ear lobes!

I have another pair in the works, but I’m itching to begin a special crochet project… Decisions, decisions!

What are you trying to fit into your schedule?

  1. Great looking earrings and I love the color combination too. Good luck deciding if you are going to crochet or bead, either way I’m sure what you create will be wonderful.
I’m trying to get some of the outdoor work on the other house, but the weather has not co-operated. So I have been working on a couple of raffle baskets for an upcoming trivia night for our dog rescue group. I have also been hired at the college to take notes and tutor another disabled student. I truly enjoy working at the college, and its only 5 minutes from the house too.

    3/31 Baseball Opening Day
3/31 Tater Day ( there are so many different ways I like to eat potatoes, I will be celebrating)
3/31 Mule Day (Missouri is famous for its mules and it is the state animal)

  2. Baseball Opening Day it is!! Love my Cubs!!

O Crissie! I am so happy you have come over to MY side. I love those tiny beads, you know I do. You should try bead embroidery next. Right now I am in love with my sewing machine and hand stitching. My dog is sick and I am staying home to give him medication tomorrow. I want to be with him if he has any side effects so I can take him to the vet real quick. Anyway, I took a long weekend with Monday off too. For me, a long weekend is like a week’s vacation without the work back log when I go back to work.

Laurie bought a cloth purse for me and I have an idea of how to make it “mine”. When I am done, I’ll post on my blog.

Crissie, I love those earrings and the color combo is ALWAYS in.

Happy Cubs Day…er Baseball Opening Day I mean.
    xx, Carol

  3. This week end I am unpacking! I have been home from TN for 3 days now and haven’t unpacked! I have to clean the top of my bureau – looks like a hoarder’s!

  4. Kelly,
I will celebrate tater day!!! Of course, it seems as if I’m always celebrating it because I LOVE potatoes – baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes, au gratin potatoes, home-fried potatoes, potato salad . . . (This is sounding like something from Forrest Gump!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Carol,
We’ll cheer for your Cubs while we cheer for our Red Sox. Until a few years ago when the Sox finally won the world series, the two teams were very much alike – both have legions of faithful fans and not quite enough luck for winning it all. It’s the Cubs turn this year!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Clenna,
I think the unpacking is definitely the boring part of a trip! Usually there’s a lot of laundry as well – boo! Although you may have been able to take care of that while away – since you were visiting family. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Love the earrings! The color combination is so pretty.

I have been crazy all week body clipping horses, there are shows coming up and they need to look sleek and shiny. I am doing a Clydesdale today!

This weekend I need to work in my yard—we have had so much rain & my grass is almost out of control!
